As an Automation Engineer within Ovivo's Industrial and PFAS Solutions Division, your role will encompass aiding in the electrical and automation system design of tailored water and wastewater treatment solutions, while effectively managing priorities across various projects.

This role involves a degree of travel, estimated at 20-30%.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently design automation systems based on process narratives and P&IDs, adhering to company standards where such systems are not yet established.
  • Collaborate with fellow automation engineers within the organization to standardize and enhance the overall quality of the company's automation systems.
  • Examine all relevant project data, including plans and specifications, to ascertain project requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers to define project timelines, adhere to deadlines, and manage engineering costs effectively.
  • Conduct general engineering assessments and produce necessary schematics, layouts, detailed drawings, calculations, specifications, software design documentation, and PLC programs with minimal supervision.
  • Regularly document and revise design procedures.
  • Provide electrical and automation support to sales and marketing through specification evaluations, cost assessments, sales drawings, and calculations.
  • Engage in innovation, product enhancement, reliability, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Are You the Right Fit?

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the field or industrial sector.
  • Proficient in ladder logic programming for PLCs in industrial machinery, including platforms such as RSLogix5000, RSLogix500, Connected Components Workbench, Unity Pro, Simatic Step7, TIA Portal, Factory Talk View Studio, Red Lion Crimson 3.0, and WinCC.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HMI programs and graphical interfaces.
  • Skilled in designing electrical systems using AutoCAD Electrical and control systems for custom industrial machinery.
  • Experienced in commissioning and troubleshooting electrical control systems, including programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and related equipment.
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code and/or IEC standards.
  • Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and software design documents.
  • A.S. or B.S. degree (preferred) in a relevant field, or a combination of relevant education and experience to design, manage, and execute equipment control systems.
  • Knowledge of UL508A requirements is a plus.
