Housekeeping Supervisor

As a key player in our housekeeping department, your expertise in cleanliness is essential. You comprehend the nuances of maintaining a hotel’s housekeeping standards and play a crucial role in helping management achieve their vision of excellence. Working closely with the housekeeping team, you will ensure that all staff members are well-informed about their responsibilities, particularly new hires. In the position of Housekeeping Supervisor, your duties will include:

  • Lead by Example -- Your extensive experience in housekeeping equips you to assist both management and your team with various tasks, including training, coaching, cleaning, and inspections. You possess the knowledge and skills to handle all aspects of the role.
  • Attention to Detail -- Continuously seek excellence throughout the hotel and provide constructive feedback to management or assist in training staff who may overlook important details. Monitor supplies and expenses to align with the department's financial goals.
  • Scheduling Expert -- At the request of management, create work schedules for your colleagues that accommodate business needs, special guest requests, and employee time-off requests. You will adeptly manage work assignments to ensure team satisfaction while delivering outstanding guest service.
  • Safety Awareness -- You are knowledgeable about training your team to operate safely and efficiently in accordance with OSHA guidelines. You also know when and how to report maintenance or security issues.
Compensation:

$20 - $22 hourly

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of housekeeping personnel to guarantee cleanliness and organization throughout the hotel.
  • Perform regular evaluations of guest rooms and public spaces to uphold high cleanliness standards.
  • Instruct new housekeeping staff on effective cleaning methods and hotel protocols.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely room turnover for incoming guests.
  • Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is required, with prior supervisory experience preferred. Proficiency in using various housekeeping equipment and tools is essential.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Physical requirements include the ability to perform medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • This role necessitates the ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances, as well as the capacity to kneel, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body and arms, while also being able to work under varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Long hours may be required. The ability to multitask is crucial. Strong communication skills are necessary, with fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
