Position Summary
The IT Support Technician plays a crucial role in assisting users with technical issues through effective communication and problem-solving. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving basic issues while escalating more complex challenges to senior staff. Additionally, the technician supports various projects and daily operations within the IT department.
Key Responsibilities
- Address Help Desk inquiries related to software and hardware malfunctions, user difficulties, and equipment setup.
- Enhance and streamline IT systems and resources.
- Manage toner supplies for printers and copiers within the organization.
- Prepare and configure technology for meetings and events.
- Offer audio/visual support during organizational events.
- Conduct personalized training sessions for employees on software and phone usage.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree, post-secondary certification, or equivalent experience. A+ certification is preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years in computer support and 1-3 years in customer service. Proven troubleshooting skills are essential. Experience in customer service and audio/video operations is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft operating systems and PC hardware. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Strong initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally. Frequent sitting and keyboard work for extended periods. Occasional walking, climbing, and bending may be necessary.
Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in Minnesota.
