Vaco Boston is collaborating with a prominent global SaaS organization that is seeking an Accounting Specialist for Revenue Management to enhance their finance team.

The Accounting Specialist will work under the guidance of the Senior Revenue Manager, primarily focusing on month-end closing procedures, which include journal entries and account reconciliations pertaining to revenue, unbilled accounts receivable, and deferred revenue.

This position requires the candidate to be based in the Boston area and will involve in-office work several days a week.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute month-end closing tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations associated with revenue, unbilled accounts receivable, and deferred revenue.
  • Manage a substantial volume of customer invoices through the Salesforce Billing system, proactively identifying and resolving any issues.
  • Assist the Senior Revenue Accountant in collaborating with the professional services division, ensuring accurate review and posting of professional services and training revenue on a monthly basis.
  • Compile all necessary monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing documentation and address all audit inquiries related to revenue and deferred revenue.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports for the team on a monthly basis.
  • Contribute to various revenue team initiatives, including royalty invoice processing and addressing inquiries from internal departments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-3 years of experience in revenue accounting, complemented by general accounting knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, with a keen attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Self-motivated professional capable of working independently, with excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Willingness to embrace additional responsibilities as required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all matters.
  • Experience in international business and foreign currency transactions is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is essential; experience with NetSuite and Salesforce is a plus.
