The role of the Senior Product Engineer for Revenue Technology is pivotal in transforming the operational landscape of Delta Air Lines. This position emphasizes the development of innovative technological solutions that significantly enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of business processes to facilitate the delivery of impactful technology solutions.
- Utilize Agile Scrum methodologies to prioritize features and manage an ordered backlog of user stories.
- Engage in Sprint ceremonies, including planning, retrospectives, and user story refinement.
- Establish and nurture effective partnerships with both Business and IT product teams.
- Conduct in-depth research on existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Subject Matter Experts to prioritize feature development based on business value.
- Create and elaborate user scenarios that define functional and non-functional requirements.
- Deliver comprehensive business requirements through various artifacts such as process flows, wireframes, and mockups.
- Work within a multi-functional team framework to ensure successful project execution.
- Document new features, requirements, and strategies, and perform testing to track and resolve issues.
- Leverage data analysis to convey the impact of solutions and support process-driven decisions.
- Develop critical metrics for decision support models and tools.
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies in collaboration with business unit leaders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a product or software engineering role.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to transform data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills and business acumen.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in product development.
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and their application in software development.
- Experience in designing and developing new products or technologies.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with a focus on effective communication.
