Job ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting scheduled maintenance and electrical safety evaluations on a variety of patient care and support equipment, adhering to established standards.
- Overseeing all assigned equipment and coordinating service schedules.
- Performing pre-acceptance inspections and developing preventive maintenance procedures; maintaining comprehensive records of procedures and manuals.
- Ensuring the proper functioning and calibration of test equipment within set intervals.
- Responding promptly to inquiries from clinical departments to assess and resolve legitimate operator concerns.
- Researching and initiating orders for repair components while adhering to budget constraints.
- Maintaining a log of purchase orders and validating invoices for payment.
- Providing informal training to equipment users and staff as necessary.
- Advising the Department Manager on service strategies for equipment and keeping supervisors informed of ongoing activities and challenges.
- Engaging in the Quality Improvement / Risk Management program by understanding customer issues and proposing enhancements.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Providing emergency on-call support as required.
- Documenting all significant asset-related actions in accordance with departmental practices.
- Participating in departmental meetings and collaborating with technical personnel to stay updated on technical advancements and device-related issues.
- Associate's degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience servicing clinical or patient care equipment in a healthcare setting.
- For positions requiring travel, a valid driver's license is necessary.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Familiarity with computer applications for tracking service histories and generating asset reports.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties as needed.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
