Job ResponsibilitiesThe Biomedical Equipment Technician II will be responsible for:
- Conducting scheduled maintenance and electrical safety assessments on a wide variety of patient care and support equipment, adhering to established compliance standards.
- Overseeing all assigned equipment and managing service schedules effectively.
- Performing pre-acceptance evaluations and developing preventive maintenance procedures for equipment, while maintaining comprehensive records of procedures and manuals.
- Ensuring the functionality and calibration of testing equipment within designated intervals.
- Responding promptly to inquiries from clinical departments to assess and resolve legitimate operator issues.
- Researching and initiating orders for necessary repair components, while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Maintaining a log of purchase orders and validating invoices for payment.
- Providing informal training to equipment users and Crothall Services Group personnel as needed.
- Making recommendations to the Department Manager regarding service strategies for equipment and keeping supervisors informed of ongoing activities and challenges.
- Engaging in the Quality Improvement/Risk Management program by understanding customer concerns and suggesting improvements.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Being available for emergency on-call duties as required.
- Documenting all significant asset-related actions in accordance with departmental practices.
- Participating in departmental meetings and collaborating with fellow technical staff to stay updated on technical advancements and device-related issues.
- Associate's degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience servicing clinical or patient care equipment in a healthcare setting.
- For positions requiring travel, a valid driver's license is necessary.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in computer applications related to service history tracking and asset reporting.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
- Willingness to be available for on-call duties as needed.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
