Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to lead the development of high-power electronics solutions for plasma and reactive gas generation applications.

About the Role

This is a critical position that requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and releasing power electronics ranging from 3-30KW.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead new product development projects involving multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Perform engineering analysis using simulation tools such as PSIM, Simulink/MATLAB, SPICE, Mathcad, or other related tools.
  • Develop, document, and execute DVT plans, reporting on results and recommending appropriate engineering tradeoffs.
  • Create and archive design reports and other product documentation.
  • Collaborate with embedded control engineers to integrate firmware with power electronics hardware components.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to execute new product developments involving power electronics for plasma generation applications.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years' experience in power electronics design. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • A record of project leadership from conceptual stage to product launch under schedule pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of resonant inverters operating at 400KHz or above, boost or buck converters, or single/three phase power factor correction topologies in the 3-30kW power range.
  • Familiarity with series and parallel resonant topologies.
  • Familiarity with magnetics component design.
  • Familiarity with power converters/inverters that operate with soft switching.
  • Familiarity with PCB layout optimization in terms of stray leakage inductance and spacing requirements.
  • Familiarity with power conversion EMI/EMC filtering design.
  • Familiarity with design, development, and optimization of firmware for power electronics digital control systems using DSP and MCU platforms.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reliability validation as it relates to power electronics.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance testing such as compliance related to EMC and safety.
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to simplify and present complicated systems.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment preferred.
  • Ability to use lab tools such as oscilloscopes, power meters, etc.
