Sustainability Policy Strategist Key Role:


Deliver environmental compliance and technical support concerning the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for federal government clients. Utilize advanced consulting skills, extensive technical knowledge, and comprehensive industry insights to devise innovative solutions for intricate challenges.

Guide and support team members in the creation of NEPA documentation, which includes Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA), and Categorical Exclusions (CATEX).

Understand environmental compliance mandates for various permits, including the Clean Water Act (CWA), as well as consultation obligations under the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA).

Interpret federal and state legislation, regulations, and directives as they pertain to environmental initiatives, implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with reporting requirements, and conduct technical evaluations of environmental and historic preservation projects.

Lead, engage, facilitate, and communicate with both the team and clients throughout all critical phases of the NEPA process, providing supervision, daily direction, quality assurance, and oversight to the team regarding project deliverables.

Oversee and manage the preparation of administrative records for NEPA documents, as well as prepare and monitor schedules, milestones, workload forecasts, and staffing requirements to fulfill client expectations.

Manage public outreach and community engagement strategies and materials.

Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a scientific, engineering, or environmental discipline involving environmental impact assessments.

3+ years of experience in evaluating environmental impacts and producing NEPA documentation.

Experience with resource consultations, particularly cultural and historic, in support of NEPA.

Knowledge of NEPA, executive orders, laws, regulations, and policies throughout the NEPA process.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.

Bachelor's degree in an Environmental field.

Additional Qualifications:
Experience in formulating recommendations for mitigating adverse environmental impacts or other measures to prevent conflicts or regulatory delays.

Experience with historic properties.

Experience in stakeholder engagement, including collaboration with NGOs, community partners, and decision-makers.

Ability to think critically as a project lead, manage multiple tasks, and work closely with a team to execute project activities under strict timelines.

Proficiency in writing, editing, and formatting complex documents using Microsoft Word.

Ability to utilize SharePoint and MS Teams in a collaborative setting.

Capability to prepare and deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.

Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 annually (USD).

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
