The PositionAs a Corporate Tax Strategy Manager, you will be an integral part of various client service teams. This role requires a robust technical understanding of corporate and partnership tax planning, consulting, compliance, and ASC 740 provision work. Beyond preparing and reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740, you will identify value-added planning opportunities and liaise with clients and financial managers. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to conduct research on diverse client issues and supervise team members including Senior Associates, Experienced Associates, and Associates. Fostering the professional growth of Associates and Senior Associates is also a vital aspect of this role.
In this position, you can expect to:
- Engage in business development initiatives (e.g., prepare proposals, present in webinars, collaborate with other service lines to deliver a comprehensive tax strategy to prospective and current clients);
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, stay updated on legislative changes, and effectively lead change;
- Conduct primary and secondary reviews of complex tax returns, including federal and state filings;
- Provide ASC 740 tax provision support and oversee preparation;
- Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate Interns, Associates, and Senior Associates;
- Receive formal corporate tax training, on-the-job training, direct feedback from leading tax professionals, and the opportunity to pursue additional training through internal and external resources.
Compensation and Benefits
Our firm offers a competitive base salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics as per defined program guidelines. The expected salary range for this role is competitive and varies based on employee qualifications.
Benefits include coverage for employees (and their families) under medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees can enroll in our firm's 401(k) plan upon hire. We provide paid time off starting at 160 hours annually, along with twelve paid holidays throughout the year. For a complete listing of benefit offerings, please refer to our resources.
In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance, a discretionary long-term cash incentive program, and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.
Qualifications- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree required;
- Preferred degrees include Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields;
- Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service required (e.g., CPA or JD);
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience with an accounting firm, including at least 3 years of Corporate Tax experience;
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills;
- Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural facilitator;
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; and proficiency in technology, including MS Excel.
