Senior Systems Architect

As a Senior Systems Architect at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics, your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating user requirements, operational concepts, and overarching system architectures to formulate system requirements specifications.
  • Leading design and development initiatives based on system requirements analysis.
  • Assisting users in defining requirements, suggesting alternative solutions, and performing feasibility assessments.
  • Providing technical guidance for the integration of requirements, design, and technology, while incorporating new plans and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Developing system architecture and design documentation.
  • Overseeing system development and implementation planning through the preparation of system engineering management plans and integration/test plans.
  • Engaging with government representatives regarding technical considerations in Systems Engineering and resolving associated issues.
  • Ensuring the technical integrity of all work performed and deliverables related to the Systems Engineering domain.
  • Facilitating communication with program personnel, government officials, and senior management.

Experience and Qualifications:

To qualify for this challenging position, the ideal candidate should possess the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineer experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the creation of systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Ensure system requirements align with defined system architectures and allocate them to individual components.
  • Coordinate the resolution of action items from various meetings and reviews requiring cross-discipline collaboration.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities, addressing all necessary development and operational needs.
  • Define, manage, and implement interface definitions, designs, and configuration changes throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Develop design solutions and physical architectures that meet system requirements and functional analysis.
  • Derive and manage lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements, ensuring completeness and verifiability.
  • Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Implement comprehensive SOA solutions and develop operational views and technical standards views for architectures.
  • Conduct system trade analyses and risk assessments according to an approved risk management plan.
  • Support planning and analysis of certification processes and the development of relevant documents.
  • Establish and manage procedures for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams.
  • Utilize Agile development methods for project management and development processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in the job requirements listed above.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, and familiarity with cluster technologies like Kubernetes.
  • Ability to administer and maintain compliance and integrity of applications.
  • Experience in an Agile software development environment.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Telework Availability: Telework/Hybrid options are available.

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information provided below is a general guideline. Compensation is based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$201,500 - $235,500
