Position Summary for Senior Systems Architect:
Engages in the application of systems engineering methodologies throughout the various phases of the system's life cycle: Conceptualization, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Decommissioning. Collaborates with government representatives concerning technical aspects of Systems Engineering and addresses related challenges, issues, or conflicts. Maintains communication with program staff, government officials, and senior management.

Accountable for the technical soundness, quality, and thoroughness of work executed and deliverables linked to one or more of the 25 process areas outlined by ISO/IEC15288:
  • Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal.
  • Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement.
  • Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area - Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management.
  • Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply.

Essential Skills:
  • Correlate events/telemetry visible in dashboards to system anomalies
  • Document and rationalize system behavior in the presence of issues; extract insights from the data
  • Design experiments to isolate and characterize specific behaviors
  • Collaborate with analytic developers to articulate needs for analytics
  • Monitor dashboards for irregular behavior
  • Proficiency in Linux, experience in designing technical experiments, an analytical mindset, understanding of system telemetry and its correlation with system performance, failure rates, and reliability analysis of components, as well as experience with complex HPC systems.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED with nineteen (19) years of comprehensive systems engineering experience.
OR
Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited institution with fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience.
OR
Master's degree in a relevant Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited institution with thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.
OR
PhD in a relevant Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited institution with thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.
