Job Overview

Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Director at Apogee STEM Discovery Learning Academy, the Infant Room Caregiver is tasked with the design, organization, and execution of age-appropriate activities and educational programs aimed at fostering the growth and development of young children.

This role encompasses the enhancement of physical, emotional, cognitive, and social skills in infants and toddlers.


Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with a designated group of infants and toddlers, employing best practices in early childhood care.
  • Encourage and support the development of each child's self-worth, trust, and independence.
  • Respond promptly to the unique needs of children, recognizing both verbal and non-verbal cues, as well as varying temperaments, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Maintain detailed records of individual children's needs, strengths, interests, service plans, attendance, and meal counts.
  • Design and implement lesson plans that are developmentally suitable for young learners.
  • Prepare and supply materials that are tangible and relevant to the children's interests and cultural backgrounds.
  • Set up the learning environment to promote active exploration and interaction with caregivers.
  • Conduct and accurately document initial and ongoing assessments of child development using established screening tools.
  • Implement health plans addressing special dietary needs, allergies, and medication requirements.
  • Collaborate with parents to establish educational and family objectives, providing regular updates.
  • Assist children in transitioning into and out of the program.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings, including staff, parent, and caregiver conferences, as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Preferred two years of experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers in a group environment or relevant training.
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and behavior management skills.
  • Professional demeanor and presentation.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • A nurturing and empathetic disposition.
