Position Overview:

We are excited to present an opportunity for an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Leader to become an integral part of our dedicated team of Pediatricians and Nurse Practitioners. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive pediatric medical management, primarily for patients with chronic rehabilitation and psychiatric needs, while also addressing occasional acute cases.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team, Psychiatry specialists, and Pulmonologists to effectively coordinate, implement, and oversee patient care plans.

Enjoy a flexible work schedule that allows you to make a significant impact in the lives of at-risk children. The role offers a flexible arrangement of 15-16 shifts per month, typically from 8-9 am to 4-5 pm, along with overnight remote call responsibilities for 7 nights each month.

Additional opportunities are available for Per Diem shifts at various Pediatrix locations throughout the region.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments, including monitoring and prescribing medications.
  • Directly coordinate and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in essential patient meetings, such as weekly treatment planning, family discussions, and insurance consultations.
  • Provide both chronic and episodic care under physician supervision.
  • Document comprehensive developmental and physical health histories within 24 hours of patient admission.
  • Facilitate successful patient discharges by prescribing necessary medications and preparing discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate effectively with various healthcare team members, including PMR, Psychiatry, dieticians, respiratory therapists, nursing, and rehabilitation staff.
  • Engage with external healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care and follow-up on medical recommendations.
  • Acute Care Certification is required for this position.
