Job Overview

We are in search of a highly skilled Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner who thrives in a dynamic environment.

In this position, you will be responsible for administering a range of respiratory care procedures tailored to the developmental and age-specific needs of patients, from neonates to adults.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care by implementing, operating, and managing ECMO/VAD systems.
  • Establish support systems in accordance with case preferences and age appropriateness.
  • Complete the pre-pump checklist prior to initiating ECMO procedures.
  • Oversee the ECMO/VAD circuit, diagnosing complications and understanding extracorporeal physiology.
  • Ensure the availability of supplies and equipment for the pump team.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance for all analyzers.
  • Act as an educator and mentor to peers.
  • Stay updated on advancements and technologies in critical care and ECMO.
Qualifications

  • Full vaccination against COVID-19, including any recommended booster doses, is mandatory for all employees.
  • A valid Registered Nurse license from the Texas Medical Board is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in neonatal or pediatric critical care is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the cardiopulmonary system as it pertains to ECMO support across pediatric, infant, and adult populations is necessary.
