Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Coordinate with intake to ensure all documentation is accurate and complete, perform financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient referrals.
  • Patient Communication: Meet with patients or their caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation, provide explanations of the process, and address concerns and questions.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance benefits, obtain precertification/authorization, and ensure verification of medical necessity as necessary.
  • Demographic and Billing Information: Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving and Escalation: Able to problem-solve and escalate items as necessary, work reports and queues as directed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED equivalent, 1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Good communication skills, both oral and written, strong customer service orientation, ability to keyboard accurately and quickly, coordinate multiple tasks for multiple customers in a fast-paced environment, strong problem-solving skills, and MS Office skills.
Working Environment

Standard office setting with minimal noise levels.
