Job Overview

Position Summary:

The role involves the servicing and maintenance of optical lens equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough servicing and repairs of lenses to meet Panavision's exceptional quality benchmarks.
  • Diagnose and resolve lens-related issues promptly.
  • Utilize necessary hand tools and equipment to execute repair tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, workshop fixtures, and materials.
  • Knowledge of established communication protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Panavision's health and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capability to handle small, intricate components and precision assemblies.
  • Adept at troubleshooting and resolving technical and operational challenges.
  • Ability to engage with clients and colleagues, providing technical support as needed.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changes in daily responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently without constant oversight.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while adhering to strict deadlines, ensuring high-quality output.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the specifications and applications of Panavision's lens inventory.
  • Basic knowledge of optical principles.
  • Experience with lens mechanical operations, service, and repair methods.
  • Trained in evaluating lens performance using projectors and collimators.
  • Experience with manual lathes and milling machines is advantageous.

Work Environment:

This position is situated in a warehouse setting. The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be fulfilled by an employee to successfully execute the essential functions of this role. Regular communication is required, along with frequent standing, walking, and the use of hands for various tasks. The employee may need to lift items or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work Schedule:

Consistent and punctual attendance is essential, with employees expected to commence work at the designated start time and fulfill their assigned duties throughout their shift.

This role typically follows standard business hours but may necessitate extended hours and occasional weekend work.
