We are seeking a highly skilled Optician to join our team at VSP Ventures Optometric Solutions LLC. As an Optician, you will play a critical role in helping customers find the perfect eyeglasses and contact lenses that meet their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities- Determine the reason for the patient's visit and identify their lifestyle needs, providing personalized recommendations for eyewear.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, fostering customer retention and promoting outstanding patient satisfaction.
- Assist customers in selecting frames and coordinate frames with optical measurements and prescription.
- Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit customer needs, occupation, habits, and facial features.
- Take measurements, assist patients with adjustments, and/or troubleshoot and dispense eyewear.
- Ensure correct pricing and realistic delivery time quotes to patients.
- Provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet and exceed patient expectations, as well as foster positive relationships with team members.
- Clean and merchandise displays daily, displaying effective merchandise at all times.
- Assist with insurance billing and processing orders.
- Document all patient communication in patient records within practice software systems.
- Work on special projects, cross-train in different departments, and perform other related duties assigned or requested.
- One to two years of experience in a related field.
- If required by state: Applicable state licensure or certification by a nationally-recognized optician association as an optician.
- Working knowledge of MS Office package.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and be available for incoming calls and inquiries.
- Effective written communication skills to clearly document customer situations, as well as prepare letters to confirm agreements made.
- Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
- Ability to ask appropriate and relevant questions to identify customer needs.
- Proven problem-solving, negotiations, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to use appropriate discretion and judgment in applying customer/call handling guidelines.
- Ability to listen, process transactions, and interact with customers simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
The working environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature. There are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
