The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team exemplifies Apple's commitment to merging creativity with technology. We support a vast array of Apple's applications and services, reaching hundreds of millions of users across more than 150 countries and in over 35 languages. The ASE Security division is in search of a Manager to oversee a team of Security Engineering Program Managers, focusing on the enhancement and fortification of the services and infrastructure that underpin both internal and external Apple products.
In this role, you will spearhead initiatives across Apple to integrate new functionalities while ensuring that security remains a priority in our software and development workflows. You will collaborate with a team of engineering-centric program managers who are dedicated to advancing our security, privacy, and compliance technologies. Given the integral nature of our work throughout the software stack, you will engage with a diverse range of engineering teams. We prioritize building strong relationships, fostering trust, and influencing outcomes without direct authority. Open and clear communication, enthusiastic collaboration, and a culture of constructive debate are essential to our success. Key Qualifications
- Deep understanding and interest in security engineering
- Experience leading a team of technical program/project managers focused on security services and internal solutions
- High technical proficiency and hands-on experience working with highly skilled teams
- Demonstrated success in delivering programs and driving strategic security initiatives across an organization
- Familiarity with modern cloud platforms and technologies
- Adept at identifying risks and coordinating remediation efforts across multiple teams
- Strong relationship management and facilitation skills within diverse engineering teams and cross-functional organizations
- Proven self-starter with a commitment to creative and critical thinking
- Exceptional presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex requirements clearly and credibly

Position Overview
We are seeking a Manager to guide a skilled team of Security Engineering Program Managers dedicated to securing the future of Apple's cloud platforms and services. In this role, you will develop a comprehensive vision for how Apple safeguards its services and infrastructure, including fortifying existing systems, collaborating on new security projects, and designing secure system deployments. This will require building consensus among all of Apple's security teams, cloud and infrastructure engineering, global networking, and data center teams, from engineers to executive leadership.
This position is hands-on, requiring close collaboration with engineering organizations, site reliability engineering, business, finance, and operational teams. You will serve as the connective thread among these diverse teams to deliver comprehensive initiatives that enhance security for iCloud, internal cloud services, and infrastructure. Your team will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, from developing functional requirements to detailed analysis, facilitating proofs-of-concept, and global platform delivery. You will cultivate positive relationships, navigate organizational dynamics without becoming entangled, continuously seek personal and team improvement, anticipate challenges, and ensure successful outcomes.
Education & Experience
A Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience in project management or security engineering is required.
Additional Information
- At Apple, base pay is one component of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows for growth as you develop within the role. The base pay range for this position is between $157,900.00 and $274,900.00, with actual pay depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
- Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses related to career advancement at Apple. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments, as well as relocation assistance.
