Job Title: Production Manager

At MKS Instruments, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing and development of optical thin film coatings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the production team in the manufacturing of optical thin film coatings using various deposition techniques.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer orders and delivery timelines while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Monitor production metrics, including yield, cycle time, and throughput, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure the consistency and reliability of optical thin film products.
  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to develop and implement new thin film deposition techniques and technologies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Optical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and methodologies, such as SPC and ISO standards.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Thin Film Deposition Techniques: Proficiency in various thin film deposition methods such as sputtering, evaporation, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and atomic layer deposition (ALD).
  • Optical Thin Film Design: Knowledge of optical thin film design principles, including interference effects, refractive index, and thickness control.
  • Materials Science: Understanding of thin film materials properties, including refractive index, absorption coefficient, and optical constants.
  • Quality Control and Testing: Proficiency in quality control methods and testing procedures for thin film filters, such as spectroscopic ellipsometry, spectrophotometry, and optical microscopy.
