Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, prepare, and deliver course materials and curriculum, employing effective teaching methodologies and assessment strategies to enhance student learning.
  • Maintain current expertise in the field of study and pedagogical practices.
  • Engage actively in relevant professional organizations.
  • Contribute to enrollment management initiatives and share professional insights with colleagues and students beyond the classroom setting.
  • Support student recruitment efforts, marketing initiatives, and activities that contribute to program development (A.S., B.A.S./B.S. degrees, and PSAV programs).
  • Encourage student engagement in activities, including providing academic and career guidance to foster a passion for learning.
  • Share professional knowledge and expertise with community and private organizations without compensation.
  • Assist in the development and scheduling of departmental courses.
  • Utilize technology effectively in teaching, communication with students, and instructional delivery.
  • Serve as lead faculty, program manager/department chair, and participate in committees as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Hospitality or a related field, or a Master's degree with a concentration in Hospitality (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Hospitality) is required.

* Education must be obtained from a regionally accredited institution.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required. A commitment to the college's objective of providing instruction to a diverse student body is essential. Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills are necessary. Knowledge of learning and assessment theories and their relationship to teaching pedagogy is important. Candidates should possess a high level of technical skills and subject matter expertise relevant to the discipline. Evidence of initiative, resourcefulness, and adaptability is also required.
