The Central Supply Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient distribution of medical supplies and equipment within the Washington Hospital Healthcare System. Key Responsibilities
- Reprocess reusable medical equipment to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Manage the sterilization and distribution of medical supplies and equipment to meet the needs of healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to track inventory levels, equipment maintenance, and supply chain activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as healthcare administration or supply chain management.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a central supply or medical equipment role.
- Certification from an approved training program, such as the Certified Central Service Technician (CCST) or the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues related to supply chain management and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
