Safety Liaison Akron

The Safety Liaison is a critical role at Equitas Health, responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position involves patrolling the premises, monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular patrols of the facility, including parking lots, buildings, and surrounding areas.
Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are secure.
Incident Response:
Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
Provide assistance during medical emergencies, evacuations, and other urgent situations.
Document and report all incidents accurately and promptly.
Access Control:
Manage access to the facility, ensuring only authorized individuals enter secure areas.
Verify identification and credentials of visitors, contractors, and employees.
Maintain visitor logs and issue visitor badges as required.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.
Assist individuals with directions, information, and support as needed.
Address and resolve conflicts or disputes in a professional and respectful manner.
Safety Inspections:
Conduct routine inspections to identify and report potential safety hazards.
Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to address safety concerns.
Training and Education:
Participate in regular security training sessions and drills.
Stay updated on the latest security practices and protocols.
Promote safety awareness among staff and visitors.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Safety Specialist and other security personnel to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Communicate effectively with medical and administrative staff regarding security matters.
Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications in security training is preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is preferred.
Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly with mental health and recovery patients, and various marginalized community members, is highly desirable.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
Basic computer skills for monitoring security systems and reporting incidents.
Must have sensitivity to, interest in and competence in cultural differences, HIV/AIDS, minority health, Gender Affirming Care, sexual practices, chemical dependency and a demonstrated competence in working with persons of color, and gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients and staff.
