Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Section Chief to lead our Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Virginia Commonwealth University. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the division's activities, including endoscopy services, outpatient and inpatient clinical activities, teaching, service, and research.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide clinical services in gastroenterology clinics at VCUHS, including clinics on the MCVH campus and outreach locations.
- Participate in inpatient management of patients with GI conditions and attend on the Digestive Health Service at VCUHS.
- Perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures.

Teaching and Leadership:

- Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with GI conditions.
- Oversee divisional programs, including IBD, GI Fellowship training, Pancreas/Biliary, and Women's Health.
- Set up Sites of Excellence for Endoscopy, Esophagus, and Nutrition.

Requirements:

- Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
- Must be facile with Diagnostic Endoscopy.
- Current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Previous experience in division or department leadership position in an academic institution.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
