Job Summary:

The Department of Anesthesiology at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a highly accomplished academic anesthesiologist to serve as Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology. As a nationally recognized leader in the field, you will be responsible for providing exceptional clinical care, education, and research in pediatric anesthesia. Your expertise will be invaluable in advancing the department's mission and goals, and you will have the opportunity to inspire and develop faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Care: Provide high-quality anesthetic care to patients at VCU Health, demonstrating expertise in pediatric anesthesia and perioperative medicine.
2. Education: Develop and improve educational programs for residents, medical students, and nurse anesthetists, ensuring they receive comprehensive training in pediatric anesthesia.
3. Research: Lead innovative scholarship in pediatric anesthesia, establishing benchmarks for success and promoting excellence in scholarly activities.
4. Service: Participate in departmental, School of Medicine, and University committees, fostering community service and good citizenship.

Requirements:

• MD or DO degree
• ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
• Prior demonstration of leadership in an academic anesthesiology department
• Strong communication, clinical, and teaching skills
• Demonstrated experience working in a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
