Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our esteemed team at Nuvance Health. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional respiratory care to patients across our network.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Administer and manage ventilator protocols while collaborating with medical staff to evaluate patients' cardiopulmonary conditions.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients experiencing respiratory distress and implement appropriate treatment modalities.
  3. Perform arterial blood gas analyses and provide recommendations for therapeutic interventions.
  4. Utilize non-invasive ventilation techniques, including BIPAP and CPAP, for patient care.
  5. Oversee the care of neonates and surgical patients requiring ventilatory support.
  6. Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions and home care strategies to minimize readmission risks.
  7. Respond effectively to emergency situations, including trauma alerts and code responses, ensuring patient stabilization.
  8. Document patient interactions and treatment plans in accordance with departmental standards.
  9. Participate in mandatory training sessions and departmental meetings to enhance professional development.
  10. Assist in mentoring and training new staff members to uphold quality care standards.
  11. Adhere to all compliance regulations associated with the role.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. CPR certification for healthcare providers is also required. Candidates should have a minimum of one year of relevant experience, particularly in ventilator management for both adult and neonatal intensive care.

Working Conditions
This position requires significant manual dexterity and physical effort, with the potential to lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates should be prepared for exposure to various environmental factors typical in a healthcare setting.
