Respiratory Therapist 2

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist 2 to join our team at Danbury Hospital. As a key member of our Pulmonary Medicine department, you will provide safe and high-quality care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.
Responsibilities- Manage ventilator rounds and help physicians assess cardiopulmonary status
- Treat hypoxia and bronchospasm with oxygen and bronchodilators
- Draw and analyze arterial blood gases, making recommendations for therapy changes
- Perform non-invasive mask ventilation, BIPAP, and CPAP
- Manage neonatal and surgical patients on ventilators and oxygen
- Educate patients on disease management and home care to reduce readmissions
- Respond to trauma alerts, code blues, and code 33s, stabilizing patients as needed
- Transport ventilator patients and enter charges and changes into the computer
- Document patient care according to department standards
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
- CPR certification
- Experience with ventilator management for adults and NICU
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
This role requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. You will work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
CredentialsRESP, NBRC certification is required.
