Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Therapist 2, you will provide safe and high-quality care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. You will perform critical and lab assessments, recommend and administer oxygen therapy, pharmacological agents, bronchial hygiene, airway, and ventilator care. This is a certified Respiratory Therapist or a registered Respiratory Therapist position that does not meet the requirements for RT3.

Responsibilities:

Manage the Ventilator/Rounding protocol, help MD assess cardiopulmonary status, and strive to reduce the length of patient stay on ventilator and in Intensive Care Unit. Make assessments of patient's cardiopulmonary compromise, treat hypoxia/bronchospasm with proper modality, and draw arterial blood gases. Analyze and make recommendations for therapy or change in therapy. Perform non-invasive mask ventilation BIPAP/CPAP, manage neonatal and surgical patients on ventilators/oxygen, and educate patients on state of disease and change to home regime to reduce re-admission. Respond to trauma alerts, code blue, code 33, and attend to & stabilize patients. Transport ventilator patients, enter charges and changes for each patient served into computer, document per department standards, attend in-services & department meetings per PEP standards, and fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Requirements:

Entry Level, CPR - Healthcare Provider, Ventilator management skills for Adults and NICU, zero to six months of experience.
