Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software and hardware solutions within a collaborative team environment.
  • Engage closely with end-users to refine and enhance workflows.
  • Stay abreast of the latest development tools, programming methodologies, and computing technologies; actively participate in educational opportunities and review professional literature.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or a Master's degree in a healthcare-related field with a technical background.
  • Experience in software development, machine learning/artificial intelligence, or a healthcare-related sector.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Comfortable interacting with a diverse range of technical and clinical personnel.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Handling various data types (e.g., text, 2D images, time series data)
    • Traditional machine learning techniques (e.g., gradient descent, decision trees)
    • High-level machine learning frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, JAX, TensorFlow)
    • Designing and optimizing data pipelines
    • Programming in Python (or similar Object-Oriented languages) or C.
    • Version control systems (e.g., git/GitHub)
    • Container technologies

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with diverse data types and manipulations:
    • Multimodal unstructured data (text, 2D images, video, 3D/4D tomographic imagery, waveforms, time series, sparse data)
    • Proficiency in writing optimized data queries (SQL, NoSQL, legacy formats)
  • Expertise in machine learning/artificial intelligence tools and methodologies:
    • Optimization for training (distributed and others) and inference (ONNX)
    • Deep learning architectures (e.g., transformers, convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks)
  • Design and optimization of high-throughput data pipelines and computing infrastructure:
    • Low-level hardware programming (C, C++, Rust, assembly, Verilog/VHDL)
    • Network design and infrastructure
    • Containerization platforms and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Hybrid cloud infrastructure integrating on-premises and off-premises high-performance computing.
    • Data and infrastructure security
  • Domain-specific tools:
    • Weights & Biases/Tensorboard, unit testing methodologies, management of extensive codebases.
    • Ability to thoroughly document solutions, including diagrams and charts.
    • Integration of codebases with standardized documentation platforms (e.g., Sphinx)
  • Healthcare experience:
    • Familiarity with healthcare data (PHI/HIPAA, HL7 FHIR)
    • Understanding of FDA regulations
    • Applied clinical experience.
