About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Director to lead our catering operations team at Suser Restaurant Group. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and production of food, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring exceptional quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and production of food, including setting up workstations and ensuring all necessary ingredients and equipment are available.
  • Assist with menu development, specify product standards, control and maintain food inventories, and adhere to recipes to ensure smooth and safe operations.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment, including monitoring and overseeing all kitchen equipment and ensuring compliance with food safety and physical standards.
  • Help set up and produce daily food production schedules, and oversee events for timely deliveries and food quality.
  • Foster the development of the food production team and utility/sanitation staff, and teach and ensure complete compliance with all food, safety, and physical standards and policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the culinary field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high-volume, quality-oriented catering, restaurant, or banquet settings.
  • Excellent volume cooking and presentation skills, with the ability to work and communicate with a variety of people of different skill levels and backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and good listening skills, with the ability to effectively handle many tasks at once in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Thoroughness, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to make good decisions and proactively make changes as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
