Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with personal care to ensure optimal recovery during their stay.
- Perform basic nursing tasks as delegated by a registered nurse, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Monitor and document patient data, including vital signs, weight, and fluid intake/output.
- Promptly report any changes in patient conditions or abnormal findings to the supervising nurse.
- Support patients with personal hygiene, daily living activities, exercise, and mobility.
- Collect, label, and send specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Document all patient care activities accurately.
- Assist healthcare professionals during physical examinations and procedures.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, reporting any hazards immediately.
- Ensure proper identification of patients prior to any intervention.
- Maintain safe transfer and positioning practices for patients.
- Conduct routine cleaning and safety checks of equipment as directed.
- Report incidents involving patients, staff, or visitors in accordance with institutional protocols.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fire, emergency, and infection control procedures.
- Perform administrative duties, including medical record maintenance and supply management.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and complete mandatory training requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Experience: No prior experience required, although relevant experience is preferred.
- Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing and American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
Compensation: Position compensation range is $20.34 to $23.82 hourly, based on qualifications and experience.
Physical DemandsThis role requires frequent bending and stooping, effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lift/push/pull weights ranging from 20 to 50 lbs. Candidates may be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
