Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Production Operator II to join our team at Airgas. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for safely handling and filling gas products into liquid, medical, and high-pressure gas cylinders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
  • Handle high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders, including preparation for filling, filling by pressure and weight, attaching to manifold, and evacuating cylinders to eliminate possible contamination.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers using forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment.
  • Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards.
  • Conduct safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves.
  • Analyze products for purity and correct mixtures.
  • Manage paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Complete quality control sheets as required.
  • Understand hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.
  • Perform various duties in the plant, including forklift operation, material handling, and sorting, inspecting, and/or cylinder maintenance work.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year prior experience in a manufacturing operation, filling, or loading experience preferred.
  • Prior forklift experience preferred.
  • Acetylene experience may be required (depending on work location).
  • Position may require CDL (depending on work location).
  • Previous experience in gas, welding, safety supply, or chemical industry preferred.
