Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Substitute Custodian to join our team at Tumwater SD. As a Substitute Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain buildings in a clean, warm, attractive, and functional order
  • Conduct minor maintenance tasks, including operating and caring for tools and equipment
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff, students, and community groups
  • Ensure good safety procedures are followed and maintain safe working conditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by lead custodian and/or administrator
Requirements
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge and skills of custodial work, including facility maintenance and repair activities
  • Ability to work well with others, maintain good health, and perform heavy physical labor
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally and work effectively in tight quarters and at heights
  • Class IV Boiler License, certificate of completion, or willingness to obtain one, if applicable
  • Building Operator Certification or willingness to obtain, if applicable
Working Conditions

This is a substitute position, and the working conditions may vary depending on the school and location. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
