We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Substitute Custodian to join our team at Tumwater School District. As a Substitute Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities:

* Maintain buildings in a clean, attractive, and functional order
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff
* Observe safety rules and regulations; maintain safe working conditions
* Perform minor repairs, replace HVAC filters, flush eye wash stations, as assigned
* Clean and disinfect restrooms, shower rooms, and locker rooms
* Collect and dispose of trash and refuse
* Clean and sanitize lunchroom tables and seats
* Set up and move lunch tables, as required
* Clean and disinfect hand washing sinks and water fountains
* Clean windows, glass, and mirrors
* Remove graffiti, as required
* High dust and clean air vents
* Clean entryway doors, frames, and thresholds
* Pick up litter around building exterior

Requirements:

* Demonstrated knowledge and skills of custodial work
* Punctual and dependable, maintain attendance requirements per Union/District Collective Bargaining Agreement
* Preferred experience with computer operated building systems, keyless entrance, fire, and sprinkler systems

Working Conditions:

* Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
* May be required to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift heavy objects
* May be exposed to chemicals, dust, and other hazardous materials
