Job Summary

The Washington Senate is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Session Clerk. This temporary position will support the Senate Workroom in Olympia, providing essential services to the legislative community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Copies documents for floor sessions and general distribution
  • Organizes and maintains archival bill files
  • Prepares reports for floor sessions using custom applications
  • Stocks and maintains Workroom copy room
  • Receives, verifies, and delivers reports, documents, and bills from committees, House of Representatives, Code Reviser and Governor's office
  • Assists the Secretary of the Senate's office in phone coverage
  • Provides backup support for Workroom staff
  • Assists in proofreading legislative documents

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications: Two years of general secretarial/clerical experience, including at least one session of Senate, House, or legislative agency work experience. One year of college may be substituted for one year of experience.
