Position Overview

This position is situated within the Enterprise Sourcing team in the Finance & Administration department. The individual in this role will oversee all facets of the firm's global travel program, focusing on the strategic enhancement and daily management of the travel initiatives aimed at controlling and minimizing annual travel expenses while ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Contract Management:
    • Collaborate with Procurement to lead contract negotiations with suppliers on a global scale, ensuring continuous oversight of contract execution.
    • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the global travel program, serving as the subject matter expert during RFPs and proposal assessments.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Supervise the travel management company, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and adherence to internal policies.
    • Establish and nurture relationships with global travel vendors, including airlines and hotels, to secure top-tier service and competitive pricing.
    • Act as the primary contact for resolving vendor-related issues as they arise.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Direct and manage communications with key stakeholders, travelers, and travel coordinators.
    • Maintain the travel policy component of the T&E Policy, including evaluating modifications based on industry trends and peer benchmarking.
    • Provide guidance on travel policy inquiries and oversee all travel exceptions.
    • Support employee safety during travel, particularly in emergency situations, in collaboration with Global Security.
    • Conduct data analysis to inform strategic discussions and stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes.
    • Challenge existing processes through change management and technology solutions.
    • Generate reports as required by various global teams.
    • Advise on meetings and events, including management of hotel accommodations as necessary.
    • Participate in and manage special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the airline, corporate travel management, or hospitality sectors.
  • Proven knowledge of travel industry best practices and experience managing a global travel program in a high-touch environment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of leading teams and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, implement, and manage vendor contracts is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an outgoing and assertive demeanor.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure while delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on detail.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently, taking initiative without prompting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify, research, and resolve unfamiliar issues, with effective communication to stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate professionally and exercise sound business judgment, maintaining strong relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
