You will learn and enhance your exposure in several areas, including grants, epidemiology, research, and data analytics.

As a GEARD UP Intern, you will be expected to develop the following core competencies:

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members, relatives, teams, and community to deliver high-quality programs and services.
  • Communication: Practice effective and clear communication with other staff members, relatives, teams, and community.
  • Community Service Orientation: Recognize the needs of the diverse community we serve and put the needs of our relatives first.
  • Accountability: Manage your own work, take ownership of your actions and decisions, and deliver high-quality work while practicing respect for all employees of WPHW.
  • Time management: Keep track of your timesheets and weekly logs and deliver work on time while practicing respect for all employees of WPHW.

To be eligible for this internship, you must have a high school diploma or GED and be enrolled in a University Undergraduate or Graduate program. You must also have familiarity with health and social issues facing American Indians and Alaska Natives and be willing to pass a criminal background check.
