Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Provide critical management and support for various control functions, ensuring accurate and timely P&L, balance sheet, and month-end close procedures.
  • Accounting Operations: Manage the processing, accounting entries, reconciliations, reporting, analysis, and documentation of assigned job areas within the controllership.
  • Process Improvement: Improve the effectiveness of the team by making adjustments and/or enhancements to current accounting and reporting processes.
  • Business Partnership: Partner with the business to drive forth and implement robust controls and new business initiatives.
  • Issue Resolution: Drive coordination across various front & back office support functions to ensure resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Analytical Support: Serve as an analytical and project support resource for product control.
  • Accounting Advisory: Successfully partner with line of business and finance partners to advise on accounting related matters, including Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL), transfers and servicing of financial instruments, and other matters affecting depository and lending institutions.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Creates increasingly complex financial statement schedules, audit support schedules, and other reports in a timely manner.
  • Internal Control: Establishes, documents, and performs internal control procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Data Analysis: Understands how data flows through the financial systems to the accounting function in order to identify issues and take action to address them.
  • Business Value Assessment: Continually assesses the business value and efficiency of the work performed, making suggestions for improvements and collaborating with others in implementing them.
  • Project Leadership: Leads or actively participates in increasingly complex department projects and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA, and/or graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of accounting experience or progressively challenging experience within an accounting function, financial services preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to perform detailed variance review and financial analysis, excellent computer skills, especially in complex Excel functions, effective written and oral communication skills, and the ability to understand and interpret complex accounting issues and processes.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 USD to $120,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
