Capital Markets Strategist

At Selby Jennings, we are seeking a skilled Capital Markets Strategist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a proactive and results-driven capital formation strategy to raise capital from institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a capital formation strategy to raise capital from institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential investors, presenting investment opportunities and effectively articulating the value proposition of the firm.
  • Lead the end-to-end fund-raising process, including preparing marketing materials, managing due diligence, negotiating terms, and closing investor commitments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing investors, acting as the primary point of contact for investor inquiries, updates, and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with the investment team to understand the unique selling points of our portfolio companies and effectively communicate these to prospective investors.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with a finance/marketing/economics concentration (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Capital formation or Investor Relations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex investment concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully raising capital and closing deals in a competitive fund-raising environment.
