Medical Laboratory Technician

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs a variety of laboratory testing procedures, from waived to high complexity, to support patient care. This role requires strong scientific knowledge and analytical skills to evaluate quality control, instrument, and result data.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of laboratory testing procedures
- Recognize appropriate and inappropriate selection of lab tests and correlate lab results to patients clinical conditions
- Perform quality control and quality assurance activities, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Access specimens, enter results, and retrieve information using computer data entry and retrieval systems
- Provide technical support and assistance to laboratory customers and staff
- Associates degree in a laboratory science or meets qualifications in CLIA
- Medical Lab Technician Certificate within 6 months of hire
- Basic computer skills and good verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service and problem-solving skills
- Minimum one (1) year recent clinical laboratory experience as an MLT
- Two (2) years of generalist experience as an MLT
- Certified as an MLT preferred by date of hire/transfer
