Additionally, they will provide overall leadership for decision support and supervise the leadership in the surgical areas. The position requires oversight and success of joint partnerships impacting surgical services. The ideal candidate will ensure that the level of care provided and the atmosphere in which it is provided is consistent with the Mission, Vision, Values, and Guiding Principles of HexaQuEST Health, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes in collaboration with organizational leadership.
  • Assure successful implementation of organizational strategies, including efficiency, productivity, throughput, workplace safety, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, quality, and key performance measures.
  • Utilize the Medical Staff Chain of Command when collaborative action is needed.
  • Elicit input and evaluate physician requests for capital equipment.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and finance regarding procedural costs and equipment requests and requirements for a service line.
  • Manage the financial performance, identifying strategies to reduce costs while improving efficiencies and quality.
  • Ensure policies, practices, and procedures comply with administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements as well as governmental and accrediting agencies.
  • Maintain and update regional administrative policies and procedures related to surgical services.
  • Participate in outside organizations that benefit the outlined areas of responsibility, such as AORN and AWONE.
  • Plan agendas, present information, and work closely with the Chair of the Operating Room Committee to continuously improve care and efficiency in surgical services.
  • Attend and participate on assigned hospital and medical staff committees, task forces, and meetings.
  • Ensure Clinical Managers and Charge RNs provide professional and clinical oversight, including mentoring of staff.
  • Maintain positive working and problem-solving relationships with Anesthesia, surgeons, and service line partners.
  • Mentor surgical managers in the development of leadership skills, fiscally accountable staffing/scheduling practices, professional development of staff, and outcomes-based practice.
  • Develop services that achieve a high level of customer satisfaction with emphasis on customer service, highest standards of quality, and innovation.
  • Manage the financial performance and identify and implement strategies to reduce costs while improving efficiencies and quality services.
  • Direct the budget and resource allocations for designated departments.
  • Complete performance reviews and other administrative functions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Accountable for all human resources, labor relations, and employee and department safety and risk management issues, including employee health, mandatory education requirements, licensing, etc.
  • Consistently support compliance and the HexaQuEST Health, Inc. code of conduct, policy, and procedure, maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protect the assets of the organization, act with ethics and integrity, report noncompliance, and adhere to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, accreditation, and licensing requirements.
