Assist the surgical team in delivering pre, intra, and post-procedural care for perioperative, pain, and gastroenterology patients undergoing procedures at Skagit Regional Health hospitals and Mount Vernon Surgery Center locations. - Answer and refer telephone calls or inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications.
- Identify yourself in a pleasant and positive manner, taking responsibility for helping the caller or visitor.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new team members and students.
- Work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow team members, assisting them in the performance of their assignments.
- Take direction and initiate actions to assume cross-functional duties, ensuring seamless patient care.
- Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary within Skagit Regional Health.
- Investigate and follow through on unusual orders or requests for service or information.
- Follow proper reporting procedures for actual or potential accidents and/or incidents.
- Record and report the need for service maintenance or repair of equipment and remove any faulty equipment from service.
- Contribute to the achievement of Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that enable you to prepare to meet future needs of Skagit Regional Health.
- Exercise time management skills to ensure efficiency in work completion.
- Organize job functions and work area to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.
- Attend required scheduled in-service programs and participate in continuing education activities.
- Meet 100% completion requirement of annual mandatory skill updates.
- Complete all mandatory learning requirements within required timelines.
- Attend and actively participate in department, team, and/or committee meetings.
- Communicate effectively, cooperatively, and respectfully in the workplace.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in the healthcare field required.
- Previous Endoscopy and/or Ambulatory Surgery Center experience preferred.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) healthcare provider BLS certification required.
- Current Washington State CNA or MA-R preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

The employee must frequently do physical repetitive motion.
