Job Title: Utility Construction Technician

We are seeking a skilled Utility Construction Technician to join our team at Apex Companies, LLC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for repairing and constructing vital stormwater infrastructure, underground utilities, concrete structures, and stormwater basins across the central states.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate hand-held tools, power tools, and heavy construction equipment, including skid loaders, excavators, and dozers.
  • Repair and construct stormwater infrastructure, underground utilities, concrete structures, and stormwater basins.
  • Travel to various locations, exploring different areas while making a significant impact.
  • Document field observations to contribute to project success and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety on every project, protecting yourself and your team.

Requirements:
  • Education: GED, High School Diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2 to 4 years of construction experience.
  • Travel: Ability to travel Monday through Friday, with travel required 85% of the time.
  • Driving: Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Skills: Proficient in the operation of construction equipment, power tools, and concrete hand tools.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of plans and specs. Knowledge of stormwater & sediment and erosion control.
  • Expertise: Prior experience with repair and construction of stormwater infrastructure, concrete structures, rebar and concrete finishing, underground piping and detention/retention basins is a plus.
  • Safety and Compliance: Comprehensive understanding of OSHA safety practices and comfortable using pickups and equipment trailers while following DOT requirements.
