We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Surgical Technician to help us achieve our objectives.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Operating Room Surgical Technician, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while assisting medical staff during surgical and invasive procedures. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the operating room is prepared and serving as a mentor for other technicians when necessary. Our team operates like a family, and we seek someone who shares our passion for patient care. In this role, you will:

  • Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform scrub technician duties in the operating room according to AORN standards.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and central processing teams to maintain cleanliness and organization in the operating rooms and equipment.
  • Participate in safety initiatives to confirm patient identification and the surgical procedure prior to preparation.
  • Utilize your experience to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
  • Conduct thorough counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating RN during all surgical procedures, adhering to facility protocols.
  • Follow safety and security policies, including hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Assist the patient care team in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for patient care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.
  • Preferred Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) or equivalent.
  • Completion of a surgical technologist program or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
