Job Summary: The Global Programs Manager will be part of the Wisconsin School of Business Global Programs team. This team manages a portfolio of study abroad and global engagement programs designed for business students. The portfolio serves graduate and undergraduate students and includes instructor-led, exchange, direct enroll, and third-party provider programs. This involves student advising, working with staff and faculty at UW-Madison and program contacts within the U.S. and abroad. The person in this role will provide direct services to students who apply for, participate in, and return from study abroad programs. Student Services and Advising Duties:

  • Advise students in 1:1 appointments, via email, and in group meetings/presentations on study abroad experience and requirements.
  • Maintain program pages for assigned programs, which serve as a primary source of information and advising for students interested in participating in programs.
  • Discuss student concerns about studying abroad including, but not limited to, finances/scholarships, identity, accommodations abroad, housing, and travel documents.
  • Liaise with appropriate offices and study abroad program partners/providers to provide support and guidance.
  • Maintain and assist with the development, deployment, and analysis of student evaluations and assessments with the goal of improving programs for study abroad students and incoming exchange students.
  • Manage the development, logistics, and coordination of the pre-departure orientation sessions and other workshops for study abroad participants and incoming exchange students.
  • Maintain communication and develop rapport with university partners and providers from assigned programs, to provide accurate and up-to-date information to students.
Enrollment Management Duties:
  • Counsel and advise study abroad participants on requesting course equivalencies.
  • Communicate directly with students regarding their final grades and course approval decisions.
  • Liaise with departments on various academic and administrative services relating to course approval and enrollment processes.
