Compensation Overview:

Base Hourly Rate: $29.70 to $39.80

Role Objective:

Nucor Harris Rebar is seeking an Inside Sales Lead to enhance our sales division. This role is pivotal in guiding our inside sales personnel. Key duties encompass overseeing sales representatives and administrative staff. Candidates must excel in fostering relationships and thrive in a collaborative environment. Safety is paramount in all roles at Nucor; thus, candidates must demonstrate a commitment to enforcing and maintaining safety protocols, practices, and cleanliness standards consistently.

Key Responsibilities:


• Foster a culture of "Safety First" within the Branch.

• Exhibit conduct aligned with Nucor Harris Rebar's Mission & Initiatives.

• Supervise the inside sales team at the Nucor Fabrication location.

• Manage daily bid lists; review reports, incoming transmittals, and customer plans.

• Oversee the assignment of bids to estimators; handle inquiries, gather details, coordinate with the detailing and production teams, and allocate resources effectively.

• Follow up on quoted jobs by contacting customers to ascertain job status (e.g., Has it been awarded? Was the quotation satisfactory?).

• Prepare contract routing sheets for secured jobs, input data into the system, and distribute to detailers to ensure they have the necessary information to meet customer requirements.

• Generate and dispatch retail bids and small project estimates. Assist in pricing for Nucor Harris Rebar materials to ensure customer accounts receive timely bids.

• Negotiate sales of Nucor Harris Rebar materials with customers securing new construction contracts.

• Upon successful negotiation of an order, ensure all requisite drawings, credit details, order specifics, and contact personnel information are obtained for immediate processing within the Nucor Harris Rebar organization.

• Drive organizational change proactively. Recognize and advocate for continuous improvement in processes and workplace efficiency.

• Communicate issues and opportunities clearly and thoroughly, providing recommended solutions.

• Represent the organization within local communities.

• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customers.

• Collaborate with other sales departments, regions, and support teams to achieve business goals.

• Stay informed about rebar market trends.

• Keep branch management updated on market dynamics, competitive pricing, and relevant market information. Relay significant market data to the commercial group across various locations.

• Attend industry-related events within the sales territory to ensure comprehensive market awareness for Nucor Harris Rebar.

• Assist in resolving claims and disputes between Nucor Harris Rebar and customers.

• When necessary, aid in the collection of outstanding payments.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Three years of experience in reinforcing steel sales, detailing, fabrication, placement, or related steel industry roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the rebar or construction sector is advantageous.
  • 2-3 years of experience in team leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in customer interaction and service.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Additional Information:

  • Extended hours may be required during peak production periods. Work is often performed beyond the standard weekday schedule.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • Physical activities include walking, sitting, standing, and bending.
  • Utilizing hands to operate tools, computers, and other electronic devices.


Core responsibilities include supervising sales representatives and sales administrators. Must excel in relationship development, working in a team environment.
