Job Summary

Actalent is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medication preparation and dispensing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, including filling and labeling medication bottles or blister packs.
  • Prescription Verification: Receive and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Patient Records Management: Maintain and update patient medication profiles to ensure all information is current and accurate.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions.
  • Communication: Communicate with healthcare providers and nursing staff regarding patient medication orders and potential interactions.
  • Sterile Compounding: Prepare intravenous (IV) mixtures or other sterile products when required.
  • Packaging and Shipping: Package and ship medications to long-term care facilities.
Requirements
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in preparing and dispensing medications.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organized records.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with healthcare providers, patients, and team members.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using pharmacy software and understanding pharmacy procedures.
  • Certification: Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is often required or preferred.
