About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Body Shop Technician/Collision Repair Specialist to join our team at The H&K Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing collision repairs on damaged vehicles, ensuring high-quality results and meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine damaged vehicles and estimate repair costs
  • Remove and replace damaged parts, including fenders, panels, and grills
  • Use pneumatic frame straightening machines to straighten bent automobile frames
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces to a high finish
  • Refinish repaired surfaces and aim headlights
  • Repair or replace defective mechanical parts
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school or three months of related experience and/or training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Qualifications
  • General Computer skills, including internet usage and knowledge of database software
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
  • Experience with collision repair, sanding, painting, and/or detailing
  • Experience in heavy civil construction, road construction, or other heavy industry
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to:

  • Moving parts
  • Fumes or airborne particles
  • Toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Wet and/or humid conditions
  • Outside weather conditions, extreme cold and heat
  • High, precarious places
  • Loud noise levels
