Position Overview:

The Youth Program Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting the Education Manager with the effective management of after-school and literacy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in completing homework assignments.
  • Encourage the development of independent problem-solving and editing skills among students.
  • Lead specific aspects of daily and monthly operations within the Education Department.
  • Create opportunities for children to thrive and enhance their academic, physical, and social abilities.
  • Actively pursue professional development and resources to better assist youth and their families.
  • Report any suspected cases of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment to the appropriate authorities.
  • Safely escort children from designated pick-up points to the Kroc Center.
  • Consistently implement Child Safety Policies.
  • Design, plan, and execute weekly lessons and activities.
  • Research and provide resources and tools for students and their families.
  • Establish a positive rapport with all children and their families.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Experience: Previous experience working with youth (TK - 5th grade).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Comfortable enforcing program rules and policies.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Equipment Used: Modern office equipment and relevant software.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (typically file boxes).
