Key Responsibilities- Ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors by coordinating maintenance activities and overseeing the work of maintenance personnel.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and support to maintenance workers and janitors, ensuring they execute assigned tasks efficiently and according to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate daily plant service and maintenance assignments within NDHC facilities, ensuring that personnel are performing tasks in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
- Ensure that maintenance tasks, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities are completed and documented promptly and accurately.
- Establish and maintain a proactive approach to safety by identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of skilled nursing and assisted living life safety and OSHA regulations, ensuring compliance.
- Review and evaluate the daily work performance of assigned personnel, providing re-education and retraining as warranted.
- Participate in disciplinary process.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or education in related maintenance fields is preferred.
- Minimum 5-years of experience in maintenance with at least 2-years maintenance experience within a skilled nursing facility required.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of life safety regulations specific to skilled nursing facilities and OSHA requirements required.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and previous experience in supervising maintenance teams.
- Proficient in performing general maintenance tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate level proficiency use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and basic understanding of Excel required.
- Previous experience using electronic plant management database systems (Example: TELS) strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and vendors.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule that may include weekends or nights and a regular on-call rotation schedule.
